RESEARCH | PRESAGE
In 2010, two French Economic Observatory (OFCE) economists, Françoise Milewski and Hélène Périvier, came together to establish the first cross-cutting programme in Sciences Po focused on gender. Accompanied by colleagues, they created a strong programme(named Programme de recherche et d’enseignement des savoirs sur le genre, PRESAGE, in French) providing a robust academic framework for understanding and analysing gender dynamics, open to all controversies and engaging in critical dialogue.
Today, Sciences Po’s Gender Studies Programme is headed by Hélène Périvier. It aims to embrace and address complexity that characterises gender issues through the production, discussion, and dissemination of scientific knowledge, in five overarching disciplines: law, economics, history, political science, and sociology.
